About Jameelah Rahey
Jameelah Rahey is a Lebanese Canadian freelance artist based in Kjipuktuk, (Halifax) Nova Scotia. A graduate of the University of Ottawa theatre department with a minor in arts administration, she focuses on photography and video as well as directing. Her photography is based in nature and the world around us. Nature is a forever changing entity. There is very little control in what it gives us and what we can document about it. You can simply ask a model to pose the same way again but there is no telling the sun to go back up into the sky and set again a second time. Nature does not wait for us, we simply must wait for it. Though nature is the main focus in Jameelah’s photo work she also works with bands making cover art and does headshots, events, and portraiture photography with both animals and people! She also loves to manipulate images in photoshop with her series “find the moose” where she took macro photos of cannabis and photoshopped small animals into the cannabis as if it were a lush forest. Jameelah is also a trained actor as well as having a past working as a theatre technician.
Jameelah is self-represented and takes clients on a limited basis. Inquire about her availability:
